The Numbness Of Hurt

When the air escapes your lungs…

the numbness of hurt1The Numbness Of Hurt

A key without a lock
Searching for a purpose
A door missing it’s nob
The emptiness of being uncertain

 The young devour one another

Cards of life bend as they’re dealt

Some are luckier than others

Old heads carrying coffins without a belt

 It’s every parents nightmare
A mother shouldn’t have to bury her child
Water-fountain tears, dirt shoveled then piled
The numbness of hurt the stillness of rain
Words can’t express a families pain

A father should never call it, babysitting

Not his own child
Those are the children neglected or missing

The family hasn’t seen in awhile

Harlem,

Heaven is at the foot of Mother…
